A modern marketplace platform focused on connecting customers with curated products and services, with a strong emphasis on performance, payments and operational workflows.

The challenge

A marketplace is not a catalogue. The hard path is the one that takes money, holds it correctly, and gets a delivery into the real world without the interface falling apart.

What I worked on

I worked on the marketplace experience itself — how products are found and understood — and on the systems underneath it: Stripe payments including an authorization-hold flow, Shipday for delivery, image loading and upload performance, and the kind of production issues that only appear after real customers start using the product.

Architecture / engineering

The storefront is a React and Next.js application. Payments go through Stripe, including authorization holds so a charge can be reserved before fulfillment is certain. Delivery is coordinated through Shipday. Image loading and uploads were treated as part of the product, not as decoration — slow media makes a marketplace feel broken even when checkout works.

Technology

React, Next.js and TypeScript on the interface. Stripe for payments and authorization holds. Shipday for delivery. Performance work focused on how images load, how uploads behave, and how the marketplace stays usable under real traffic.

What I learned

Reliability in a marketplace lives in the payment and delivery path. If those two are careful, the rest of the product has room to feel fast.
